Goal: To provide an accessible primary care system that is based on sound clinical care guidelines and evidenced based medicine, and is family centered, sustainable, replicable, and cost effective.
Major Achievements: Funded in Fiscal Year 2004, this project has completed its planning phase. During March 2005, ten health care professionals will visit La Crosse, WI to study model quality and health care delivery systems and learn new approaches to the delivery of primary health care. Ten physicians in Georgia have enrolled in a six month training program to achieve certification as a Family Physician. They will provide the staffing for the new model clinic to be opened in Ozurgetti, Georgia in 2005.
Funding: World Services as a Subcontractor of the American International Health Alliance has received approximately $600,000 to implement this project.
