Goal: To provide leadership training and support for the development of a model healthy community program in 15 cities in Russia.
Major Accomplishments: In February 2002, 100 Russian SABIT alumni and Library of Congress Russian Leadership Program alumni from at least 15 cities met in Russia. The focus of their training was leadership development and creation of a “Healthy Community” plan.
Impact: Communities addressed their two major health problems – cardiovascular problems and accidents - by bringing together leaders from various cities to assist them in creating their programs.
Funding: This project is funded by a $50,000 grant to World Services of La Crosse, Inc. from the U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. Library of Congress – Open World Leadership Program.
