Each summer, Dubna Russia university students participate in a work and culture experience in La Crosse, Wisconsin through the WISE program sponsored by World Services. One of the first stops includes navigating a local grocery store! Students live independently and create personal relationships with La Crosse co-workers and friends that strengthen the 20 year sister city partnership.

Rural Tourism leaders from Serbia explore cultural heritage tourism in the Mississippi River Valley of Wisconsin and Minnesota
World Services welcomed one of the first USAID Community Connections delegations from Serbia. Delegates explored tourism infrastructure in rural communities along the Mississippi River in Wisconsin and Minnesota.

During their U.S. visit, they also promoted tourism in Serbia. Below, a local host from La Crosse was welcomed by his Serbian friends in Serbia and explored a personal hobby with a master clay artisan.
