If you’re looking for an international experience this summer, World Services has an opportunity that will allow you to have it at home. We invite citizen diplomat volunteers to host a delegation of health professionals from Dubna, our Sister City in Russia. This exchange is sponsored by the Open World Program and will include six visitors from Russia visiting the Coulee Region May 23 - 31. Share your Memorial Day holiday with a visitor from Dubna!
Host families are needed to provide housing, meals, and transportation during the week-long visit. Please forward this invitation to other friends, neighbors, co-workers, or family members who share your interest in peace through mutual understanding.
In addition to their professional program focusing on our collaborative, cancer care project, our Dubna friends will experience the Memorial Day holiday observance. If you are not able to home host, would you consider inviting the guests to your Memorial Day events? Offer an early summer ride on the river? Invite the guests to your neighborhood picnic? Go on a hike or bike ride? Attend a Memorial Day ceremony?
The delegation includes five females and one male ages 27- 40 years who work as physicians and nurses in Dubna. World Services will manage the professional day program Tuesday through Friday (May 27 – 30).
Cultural immersion is always an important part of international exchanges. It’s through sharing our lifestyles and building friendships that we really accomplish the objectives of citizen diplomacy.
We invite you to assist us in welcoming these Dubna health leaders; hosting them in your home; or providing hospitality support, such as shopping, social events, tours of the region or transportation,
